External Hard Drive Macbook Pro
To hopefully fix your hard drive, follow these steps: Switch off your MacBook Pro. Turn it back on by pressing the Power button. But while doing that, press the CMD and R keys as well until the Apple logo appears. The macOS Utilities window will open. From there, select Disk Utility. From the left pane, choose your MacBook Pro hard drive. So out of the blue my Mid 2012 Macbook Pro is not recognizing ANY hard drive. I am getting the folder with the question mark even after replacing SATA cable. Disk Utility cannot find the hard drive either. I have tried 3 different hard drives 1 of which I am currently using on a different MAC so I know it works. I have had no luck. The LaCie 2big Dock Thunderbolt 3 is much more than just a hard drive. To start, it contains two drives, not just one. We are using the top-end config, which has two 10TB IronWolf Pro disks.
